Alma 26:12 - Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

A week full of fun and surprises

This week was really full. I am sorry I didnt get pictures sent last week, but I have a lot this week and they are already working on uploading.

So Fort Dauphin is doing well, and we had a very nice weekend with President and Sister Adams. This week we have been working hard, we are still finding new investigators and working to try and help the branch. It will suffice to say that we have a lot of work ahead of us.

We had a great time with President and Sister Adams this weekend, we had interviews, a couple of firesides, and just craziness with them. It was great to see them and they love it down here.

Ok, let me explain with pictures today. We wake up in the morning and open the windows of our house to see this. 0010 and 0011.

So actually my first full day here in Fort D we see a guy with a hammerhead shark walking down the street, so naturally we stop him and take a picture of him. 0015. Then we obviously need a picture with the shark as well. 0017

And then since there are two branches here, there are also two different church buildings, mine, which is in need of repair and a lot of love, and the other one which from here on out will be called Amparihy, mine is Tanambao, the others are Amparihy. The nice church building is Amparihy. 0024 and 0025.

Then you turn around from where I took those pictures and you get to see their view from church. 0026,0027,0028. Talk about incredible. I mean lets be honest, how hard is it to go to church when you know that you get to look at that from the windows. And it gives incentives to talk in church, because when you give a talk, you face the ocean and a beautiful view. That is the same beach we see from our house, see the first pics, yes then you can conclude we live very close to that church building.

Then last week we went on the picnic. Sometimes when you go on a picnic you see lemurs. 0042,0043

Other times you see waterfalls, even if they are small and not impressive after walking 2.5 hours,0059 and sometimes you have fun eating lunch together. 0063

And then we went to the beach. and built a sand castle. and had fun. 0068,0071,0074

Ill fast forward a little bit without pics because they are taking a while to upload, so get ready, get set go!

I have an investigator that is way good at drawing with pencil, we killed live chickens to eat, etc, etc, etc. Normal stuff.

Today we woke up and started a nice hike. Where to, you ask? Pic St Louis, or for us english speakers the peak St. Louis. It is a nice mountain. It only took three hours to hike up and about 2 to come back down. On pic, here is the explanation. We hike way to the left, and hike up to the first peak, we call that, peak false hope, and then we have to hike down into the sadle and back up to the second peak, the taller one, called St. Louis. Then after being up there for about an hour and a half, we came back down on a path to the right. It was fun, but tiring. We went with 14 members. Members go on p-day activites with us every week. Everyone knows every monday the missionaries are going to do some cool thing and they all join us.  and the rest of the pics are from the top of the two peaks. numbers whatever are left because I am tired. Really tired. Really really tired.

I love you all, God be with you.

Life is going well

Letter from May 26, 2014

Mom note: I am way behind on letters and photos.  Several will be out of order, but I wanted to post today's letter and picture, and then work on catching up on the previous letters and pictures.

Hello Everybody!

Life is doing well, we had the highest attendance in the time that we have been here yesterday. We also taught the most lessons we have since we have been here. We are getting a lot of work done and starting to see some progress. We are working to really solidify the work here and to solidify the branch. Today is going to be a picture day of things from P-days and other things. Lots o pics hopefully, we shall see.

South Africa visited our church building this last week and talked with the landlord about some things, and it looks like we are going to be getting an expansion, possibly building a chapel on some land connected to the current building and then turning the current chapel into some classrooms, more details on that when it comes available. This is still a work in progress, plans are still not finalized.
Mom Note: I am guessing that he meant the area presidency from South Africa visited their church building. The church has leadership assigned in each area of the world.
New Mom Note: Elder Weber clarified in his June 2nd letter:

Not the area presidency, thats a big thing if they visit, people who work for the church that work for FM (mom note: Facilities Management) came to look at buildings. Sorry about that, if the area presidency comes thats a huge ordeal. No I didnt even see them, but FM comes out from SA frequently to look at church buildings and make decisions on what is to be done.

I am sending a lot of pics from previous weeks. Most are old.

Cyber is about to close though so that is probably about it for this week. Everything is doing really well.

Good luck with life this week. And until next week again. Time is really going by really fast.
